Car Polishing in Romeo, MI
Polishing
Paint loses its shine slowly. A little haze from the sun, fine swirl marks from the car wash, a dull patch where something sat on the hood. None of it is damage you notice day to day, but side by side with a freshly polished car the difference is obvious.
Our technicians polish by machine, using professional compounds and polishes, to take off that thin layer of haze and fine marks and bring the gloss back.
What polishing helps with
- Dull, hazy or faded paint
- Light swirl marks from automatic washes or poor drying
- Water spots sitting on the surface
- Getting the paint ready for a ceramic coating or paint protection film
What it can’t fix
Polishing works on the top of the clear coat. It won’t remove a scratch that has gone through the clear coat into the colour, rock chips, or peeling clear coat. We’ll tell you honestly if that’s what we see.
Polishing or paint correction?
They use similar machines and products. If your paint has heavier swirl marks, scratches or oxidation, you probably want paint correction instead. Not sure? Bring the car in and we’ll look at it with you.
Before a ceramic coating
A coating locks in whatever the paint looks like underneath. That’s why we recommend polishing or paint correction before ceramic coating on any car that isn’t brand new.
Questions
How long does polishing last?
The gloss lasts until the paint picks up new marks, which depends on how the car is washed. Protecting it afterwards with a coating or sealant keeps it looking better for longer.
Is it included in an exterior detail?
Our exterior detail includes a machine polish along with the wash, clay bar and trim dressing. Booking polishing on its own makes sense when the paint is the main concern.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the size of the vehicle and the paint’s condition. Call (586) 651-4007 or use the quote button for a price.
