Avant Guard Formula 1051 Care Guide

Thank you for trusting Rite-Way Auto Reconditioning with your Avant Guard Formula 1051 application. Please review the following care instructions to get the best results and to keep your warranty valid.

Right After Your Appointment

You can typically pick up your vehicle 8 to 12 hours after installation and drive it normally right away. Environmental conditions can affect the curing process.

During the first week:

  • Keep the vehicle dry when possible
  • Avoid tunnel car washes, mitt washing, or polishing
  • No toppers or solvent-based products

Long-Term Wear and Maintenance

Once fully cured, there’s genuinely nothing else to do: no scheduled maintenance, no toppers, and no reapplication cycles required to keep the coating performing.

Over time, Formula 1051 becomes the sacrificial layer that absorbs the daily wear your factory clear coat would otherwise take directly. Wear still occurs and is expected, testing has shown approximately an 80% reduction in abrasion compared to unprotected factory clear coat. Wear happens in the coating layer, which means it can be corrected without removing your factory paint.

Responsible care still applies. Abuse still causes damage.

Maintaining the coating day to day is simple: regular washing with mild soap and water is all it needs. Automatic and touchless car washes are fine for day-to-day use.

Warranty Coverage

Avant Guard Formula 1051 is backed by a 10-year warranty. It covers damage to your paint caused by:

  • Oxidation
  • Bird droppings
  • Bug splatter
  • Tree sap
  • UV / sunlight exposure

If one of those causes visible damage during the warranty period, we’ll repair, clean, or retreat the affected area at no cost.

What’s not covered:

  • Rock chips and stone chip damage
  • Road salt and de-icing chemicals
  • Damage from manual or automatic wash brushes
  • Collision damage
  • Pre-existing swirl marks or scratches
  • Workmanship issues such as high spots or streaks

The warranty is registered to the original vehicle owner by name and is non-transferable if you sell the car. Any claim must be reported within 30 days of noticing the issue. In the event of an approved claim, coverage is capped at $2,000 or the cost of the original coating application, whichever is less.
