Ram Truck Undercoating
Ram owners around Macomb County tend to hang onto their trucks. They’re built for work, and most people who buy one plan on getting a decade or more out of it. The part of that plan most people forget about is the frame underneath, which spends every Michigan winter getting hit with the same road salt that eats away at every other truck on the road.
Why Ram Owners in Macomb County Undercoat Their Trucks
Trucks like the Ram 1500 and heavier-duty models are known to be more susceptible to underbody and frame corrosion in road-salt climates than vehicles that don’t see winter roads. The frame rails and brake lines sit closest to the ground and absorb the worst of the salt spray kicked up all season. Once that corrosion sets in, there’s no reversing it, which is exactly why getting ahead of it with undercoating protects both the truck’s structure and its resale value down the line.
Which Undercoating Is Right for a Ram
We offer two undercoating systems for Ram owners, depending on how the truck gets used.
NHOU oil undercoating stays slightly fluid and keeps creeping into small scratches and seams over time, which works well for trucks that take regular rock chips and scrapes underneath.
NHOU Boss Wax Hybrid undercoating builds a tougher, longer-wearing barrier, which can be a good fit for a truck that sits outside year-round and needs maximum coverage.
We can talk through your specific Ram and how you use it before recommending one.

Frequently Asked Questions
Ram does not require aftermarket undercoating, and it's not something that comes standard from the factory in a form built to hold up long-term in a salt-belt climate like Michigan's. Undercoating is an aftermarket protective step truck owners choose to add, not a manufacturer requirement, and professional application doesn't interfere with anything Ram builds into the truck.
Our process treats the enclosed, corrosion-prone areas, frame rails, rocker panels, cab corners, and other cavity sections, through cavity injection, plus full underbody application to all exposed components. Every Ram is a little different depending on trim and modifications, so we'll walk through your specific truck's coverage when you bring it in.
No. Professional undercoating applied by a qualified shop will not void your Ram factory warranty. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act prohibits manufacturers from voiding a warranty simply because an aftermarket product or service was used. Professional NHOU or NHOU Boss Wax Hybrid application doesn't damage any vehicle components, so this isn't a realistic concern.
Undercoating works best before rust has a chance to start, so a new Ram is the easiest one to protect. Waiting just means more exposure to salt before the protection goes on.
All undercoating is done at our Romeo shop. We don't offer mobile service for this, since it needs a controlled environment to apply correctly.
